| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
Academic Affairs, led by the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, comprises the university's colleges, schools and libraries, along with other academic support and administrative units. Academic Affairs works collaboratively to strengthen ECU's culture of academic excellence in line with our mission to be a national model for student success, public service and regional transformation.
The College of Fine Arts and Communication serves as a cultural core for the university and eastern North Carolina. The college prepares artists, communicators, educators, performers, and designers through innovative teaching, creative scholarship, professional practice, and community engagement. Through experiential learning opportunities and collaborative partnerships, students develop the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed for success in their professions. The college also enriches the region through performances, exhibitions, media, festivals, and other public programs that promote artistic, cultural, and educational engagement. |
| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position provides high-level administrative, analytical, and communications support to the Dean's Office and the College of Fine Arts and Communication's academic schools. Reporting to the Dean, the position independently prepares and analyzes reports and institutional information, maintains records supporting accreditation and faculty affairs, coordinates college office operations and programs, supports communications and web content, and provides resources for faculty and staff training, onboarding, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare and maintain college personnel and institutional records; develop reports on enrollment, student credit hours, staffing, and facility utilization; support accreditation, program review, and faculty affairs processes (30%)
- Support graduate, international, alumni, faculty, staff, and student programs; manage social media and website content for the Schools of Communication and Art and Design; coordinate related communications and initiatives (25%)
- Coordinate college office operations, including travel, purchasing, space and facility planning, equipment, timekeeping, Microsoft Teams sites, office supplies, college-wide meetings, and responding to inquiries (25%)
- Research and compile faculty and staff training, grants, workshops, and professional development opportunities; develop informational resources and deadline reminders; supervise student workers, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance oversight (20%)

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Canva.
- Proficiency with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook).
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different platforms and audiences while maintaining a professional institutional voice.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to exercise sound professional judgment when handling administrative responsibilities and sensitive information.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently while providing a high level of service to faculty, staff, university administrators, and other stakeholders.
