Department Summary

UCLA is committed to conducting its affairs ethically and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations. The UCLA Compliance Office is part of the Office of the Chancellor and provides guidance and oversight of the development, implementation and administration of a compliance program that is consistent with UC policies, procedures, ethical principles and core values.
Position Summary

The State Authorizations Office is responsible for working with stakeholders to promote compliance with state and foreign authorization regulations governing postsecondary distance education and physical presence rules across relevant jurisdictions, as well as certification requirements.


Salary & Compensation

Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

  • Five years experience working in state authorizations field, higher education regulatory compliance, professional licensure background or equivalent. (Preferred)
  • Administrative experience, overseeing operations in a Higher Education environment. (Required)
  • Broad knowledge and experience with regulations and laws addressing state authorization rules governing postsecondary distance education and physical presence across relevant US. Jurisdictions. (Required)
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills at a high management level. Ability to design and carry out a multifaceted communications program. (Required)
  • Ability to effectively conduct training and education programs workshops and other presentations for small and large groups. (Required)
  • Ability to effectively mediate conflict and communicate across constituencies while demonstrating empathy and understanding. (Required)
  • Ability to manage stakeholders who have strong disagreements in policy procedure and structure. (Required)

  • Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and experience (Required)
