Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to understand written work instructions, production schedules, safety procedures, and verbal directions from supervisors and lead operators.
- Basic computer skills required for machine monitoring, production data entry, and system inquiries.
Experience Requirements
- Previous machine operator experience in manufacturing, coating, laminating, converting, printing, or related production environments preferred.
- Experience performing machine setups, product changeovers, equipment cleaning, and production line operation.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment, including forklifts, hoists, pallet jacks, or drum handling equipment.
- Experience working with adhesives, coatings, solvents, or chemical mixing processes is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to monitor and adjust machine settings for optimal product quality.
- Ability to identify coating defects, troubleshoot production issues, and make process adjustments as needed.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support multiple production areas and assist coworkers.
- Reliable attendance, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently on an overnight shift.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery, adhesives, flammable solvents, and industrial equipment.
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment that may be warm, dirty, or sticky at times.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe safety footwear.
Job Duties
- Operate coating and laminating equipment by applying solvent-based adhesives to moving materials while monitoring quality and production performance.
- Observe machine displays, adjust operating parameters, inspect coatings for defects, and make corrections to maintain product specifications.
- Perform product changeovers, equipment cleanups, adhesive mixing, and material preparation to maximize production efficiency.
- Use forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment to transport rolls, drums, and production materials safely.
- Maintain a clean work area, follow hazardous waste handling procedures, support team operations, and comply with all safety, quality, and production requirements.
- Work a regular third-shift schedule with overtime, weekend work, and extended shifts as needed to support production demands.
