Pavion is seeking an experienced MA Licensed Fire Sprinkler Service Fitter to join our Fire business. The Fire Sprinkler Fitter will be responsible for the installation, service, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and other customer facilities.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of fire protection systems, applicable codes and standards, and safe work practices. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a high level of quality, professionalism, and customer service.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Install, modify, repair, inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and system specifications.


  • The ability to carry and climb step/extension ladders where needed and lift objects up to 50 pounds.

  • Lay out, measure, cut, thread, groove, assemble, and install piping and related fire protection components.
  • Install sprinkler heads, valves, hangers, supports, backflow preventers, alarm devices, and other system components.
  • Perform system testing and assist with inspections to ensure systems are operating properly and meet applicable requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and identify issues with fire sprinkler systems and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

  • Work with managers, inspectors, customers, and other trades to coordinate installation and service activities.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, testing completed, and system deficiencies.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable fire protection codes and standards.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.

  • Provide professional and courteous service to customers and represent K&J (Pavion) positively in the field.

  • Complete assigned work within established schedules and quality standards.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • Utilize company tools for proper time and ticket tracking.



Basic Qualifications:




  • Valid fire sprinkler fitter license for the State of MA.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience installing, servicing, or maintaining fire sprinkler systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, piping, valves, fittings, and related components.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and system plans.
  • Working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards, local codes, and fire protection requirements.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other equipment commonly used in the trade.
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms as required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials as required by the position.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • NICET certification or other relevant fire protection certification.
  • Experience with commercial fire sprinkler installations and service.
  • Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, and/or fire pump systems.
  • Experience working from hydraulic calculations and detailed sprinkler drawings.
  • Experience working in commercial construction environments.



Physical Requirements

This position requires regular standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working in confined or elevated areas. The employee must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment and safely perform the physical requirements associated with fire sprinkler installation and service.

Work Environment

This position requires travel to customer locations, construction sites, and other job sites. Company vehicle is provided. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, construction environments, noise, dust, and other typical job-site conditions.

The hourly pay range for this position is $40.00-$55.00 per hour. The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
