At Avient, we're looking for motivated manufacturing professionals to join our production team. In this role, you'll operate industrial mixing and processing equipment used to manufacture specialty materials for a variety of industries. Depending on your experience and business needs, you may be assigned to one of several production areas.

Pay: $20/ hour or more based on experience.
Hours: 6:00AM - 4:30PM
Days: Monday - Thursday
What You'll Do
  • Operate mixers, mills, and other manufacturing equipment
  • Follow batch sheets, production instructions, and quality standards
  • Weigh and process raw materials according to specifications
  • Monitor equipment performance and production quality
  • Complete production documentation and safety checks
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing practices

Production Areas

Aqua Mix Operator

Work with raw materials, pigments, and additives to create custom color and chemical formulations. This role focuses on accurately weighing ingredients, following batch recipes, and operating mixing equipment to produce high-quality blended products.

Mix Operator

Prepare, stage, and mix raw materials for production processes. This position serves as a key support function within manufacturing, ensuring operators have the materials needed to maintain efficient production while maintaining quality and safety standards.

2-Roll Mill Operator

Operate specialized rolling equipment used to process and blend materials into finished products. This role involves monitoring product consistency, machine settings, and production quality throughout the manufacturing process.

3-Roll Mill Operator

Operate precision milling equipment used to produce paste and specialty compounds. This position focuses on controlling product quality, maintaining equipment performance, and ensuring specifications are met throughout production.

Essential Functions
  • Manufacturing, production, machine operation, mixing, compounding, material handling, or industrial experience preferred
  • Experience operating industrial equipment, mixers, mills, forklifts, or other production machinery is a plus
  • Ability to read work instructions and follow production procedures
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Qualifications
* High School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent training & experience
* Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals
* Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must have the ability to use conversions, work with different units such as
weight, volume, density, distance, etc.
Physical Demands
* Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking and listening
* Must be able to walk and use hands. Occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs
* May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
* Ability to frequently communicate and understand work instructions and information in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where noise level is loud.
* Must be able to detect and discern safety alarms and respond accordingly.
* Generally requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection
* Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine
* May be exposed to working in extreme heat and humidity
* May also be exposed on occasion to dust or fumes
Final compensation within this range may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
