Job Description

This position will lead the Office of Regional Innovation and direct the strategic and operational activities of the Tech Hub, ensuring alignment of consortium partners, implementation of regional innovation initiatives, achievement of program objectives, and advancement of long-term organizational sustainability.

The position will be working with a consortium of nearly 40 partner organizations. The RIO will coordinate regional collaboration, align strategic priorities, and strengthen partnerships among industry, higher education, government, workforce organizations, economic development partners, investors, and community leaders. Working closely with the Executive Director and consortium partners, the RIO will help translate the Tech Hub's regional strategy into measurable outcomes by fostering collaboration, strengthening innovation, attracting investment, and advancing workforce and economic development across the region. As the RIO, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future of the Tech Hub and contribute to one of the nation's emerging regional innovation ecosystems while creating lasting economic and technological impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Office of Regional Innovation and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tech Hub
  • Support the governance of the Tech Hub under the direction of the Executive Director and in collaboration with the Executive Steering Committee
  • Coordinate the activities of the Tech Hub consortium to advance shared strategic priorities
  • Develop and implement strategies that advance the Tech Hub's mission, strategic priorities, and long-term sustainability
  • Build and strengthen relationships among industry, higher education, government, workforce organizations, economic development partners, investors, and community stakeholders
  • Expand consortium engagement and identify opportunities for collaboration and investment
  • Lead or coordinate proposals for federal, state, philanthropic, and private funding opportunities
  • Oversee implementation of EDA-funded initiatives and other externally funded projects. Develop, monitor, and evaluate performance measures that demonstrate organizational effectiveness and regional impact
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the Tech Hub's long-term sustainability through strategic partnerships and external funding
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Public Administration, Engineering, Higher Education Administration, or a related field appropriate to the department's mission
  • Progressively responsible experience in program administration, project management, operations management, higher education administration, or a related field from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $70,152-$104,104 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
