The Regional Director of the Smilow Cancer Hospital Network is a member of the Smilow Cancer Hospital leadership team and has administrative responsibility and authority for all Smilow services, programs and partnerships across the region. Provides strategic and operational leadership to achieve aggressive multiyear program and network development goals across an expanding geography in four states. Works in collaboration with leaders from Smilow, YNHH DNs, Yale Cancer Center, Yale Medicine, NEMG and other local providers. Reporting to the Vice President, Network Development, the Regional Director is responsible for enhancement and alignment among the Smilow Cancer Hospital's Regional Services including Medical Oncology & Hematology Care Centers, Radiation Oncology Centers and Surgical Specialties in standalone centers, multidisciplinary clinics and hospital based service lines. As a transformational leader must have the ability to balance achievement of complex strategic and operational goals while supporting the development of and maintaining effective relationships with other delivery networks and health systems including all Trinity Health of New England locations. Represents the Smilow Cancer Hospital publicly (hospitals, community service organizations, etc.). In addition, the Regional Director will be aware of and utilize the evolving market conditions and practice changes to ensure that Smilow programs remains a leading provider in each region and community. While overall responsibilities include knowledge of day-to-day operations and leadership of network directors, the incumbent will focus on relationship management, program development, marketing, contracting and business management.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Masters Degree in healthcare related field
EXPERIENCE
- Eight (8) years of progressive leadership experience in a complex, academic medical center, preferably in an oncology setting. Additionally, experience in a community based cancer practice or program is preferable.
SPECIAL SKILLS
- Strong work ethic, and the ability to keep pace with the departments growing and changing needs.
- Excellent administrative, technical and fiscal management skills.
- Must be able to build and lead an effective multidisciplinary management team.
- Ability to coordinate Hospital and University programs and work successfully in a matrix-managed environment.
- Ability to quickly develop and maintain effective relationships with various internal and external constituents including Yale University staff members, staff of the affiliated hospitals and community colleges.
- Ability to successfully negotiate and effectively manage complex and politically challenging relationships.
- In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate the following qualities:
- Proven ability to shape administrative strategies to support program success
- Success in developing, implementing and evaluating strategic and operational plans while hitting budget targets.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage time and resources effectively.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
- Frequent local travel across the designated region assigned which will involve New Haven, other communities across CT as well as NY, MA or RI.
