The Department of English seeks to appoint a tenure-track professorin global literatures and media in English from 1945 to thepresent. We welcome applications from innovative scholars workingacross any geographical region, methodological framework, orcultural context within the post-WWII era. Our primary goal is toidentify an exceptional researcher and teacher whose work pushesthe intellectual boundaries of global literary and media studiesand traces how English moves across national borders. Open toscholars working on diverse literary genres and media landscapesincluding but not limited to book history, print culture, andtransmedia storytelling (i.e. cinema and television, video games,long-form narrative podcasts, radio, and new forms of visual andauditory storytelling). The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2027. Thetenure-track professor will be responsible for teaching at theundergraduate and graduate levels, contributing to the intellectuallife of the Faculty and University by pursuing a full program ofscholarly research and course development, advising undergraduateand graduate students, overseeing independent research projects,and engaging in an appropriate amount of service.
