Caregiving at Lakewood's Care Center

At Lakewood's 87-bed, Medicare-certified skilled long-term care facility, you'll build relationships with residents and families while putting your nursing knowledge into practice. Our Care Center provides care across long-term care, a specialized dementia unit, and a transitional care unit, offering team members the opportunity to work with residents at various stages of their healthcare journey. Your work will help residents maintain their abilities, receive personalized care, and feel respected in the place they call home.

Interested in hands-on caregiving and building a foundation in healthcare? This role offers an opportunity to gain resident care experience while working toward CNA certification within four months of hire.

With day, evening, and overnight shifts open, you can explore which schedule works best for your life. We'll discuss available hours, weekend rotations, and holiday expectations so you can consider both your career goals and commitments outside work.

How You'll Help Residents

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will work under licensed nurse supervision. Duties will include:

• Help residents with daily routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Assist with movement, repositioning, and transfers using proper techniques and approved equipment.
• Promptly answer call lights and respond to residents' requests with patience and care.
• Observe residents, report changes or concerns to nursing staff, and complete measurements as trained and directed.
• Record the care you provide and help keep residents' surroundings clean, comfortable, and safe.

Position Type

Flexible scheduling that balances life's personal commitments with resident care needs: such as 4, 8, or 12-hour shift lengths offered on all shifts, weekend-only positions, before/after school shifts, or fixed workdays each week. Rotating weekends and holidays may be required.

Available shifts may include:

• 6:00AM-10:00AM
• 6:00AM-2:30PM
• 6:00AM-6:30PM
• 2:00PM-10:30PM
• 4:00PM-9:00PM
• 5:45PM-6:15AM
• and other flexible options to fit your needs!

Additional compensation is available through:

• Competitive shift differential (PM/NOC), shift pick-up, overtime
• Full scholarship opportunities are available!

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain CNA certification within four months of hire
• Current CPR/BLS certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
• Ability to perform required resident care, transfers, and repositioning using established safety practices
