Job Responsibilities & Requirements

The Project Designer & Technology Lead is responsible for supporting and enabling the execution of the MiTek Distributed Construction methodology applied to the development of a new structural frame product.This includes direct collaboration with a project team working within an innovation micro market to ensure best practice of MiTek technology solutions are being developed and leveraged as part of project execution.The role will require working in close collaboration with external project design teams and internal MiTek enabling resources.

This position serves as the primary technical expert for project modeling, digital asset and execution plan development across MiTek technology solutions. The position will be a critical design and technical expert for Micro-Market partners, project teams, and MiTek Services to ensure projects are enabled through effective use of MiTek technology, construction knowledge, and planning expertise.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead project 3D modeling, digital asset, manufacturing and assembly plan setup to support successful project execution.
  • Support the development of design solutions and project plans that align with customer requirements, construction practices, and MiTek technology capabilities.
  • Partner directly with Micro-Market stakeholders to support projects from initial planning through execution.
  • Personally execute project modeling, detailing and planning work using the enabling technology solution to support project deadlines.
  • Ensure technology solutions are effectively implemented and leveraged to meet project and partner needs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Micro-Markets and MiTek Services Support regarding project execution work needing to be completed.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources to ensure timely completion of modeling and planning activities.
  • Identify project risks, design challenges, and implementation constraints and develop practical solutions.
  • Communicate project requirements, priorities, and progress to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Promote best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement in project modeling and planning processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise on MiTek Structure and related design and planning technologies.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Building Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in structural framing detailing, project planning, construction technology, or related technical disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting wood frame construction, building systems, or technology-enabled design solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Deep knowledge of MiTek Structure or similar 3D modeling software, and related technology solutions involved in the design and manufacturing of offsite components and general material requirement planning.
  • Strong understanding of wood frame construction methods and practices including onsite installation sequencing.
  • Advanced knowledge of framing systems, foundation systems, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) integration.
  • Ability to translate project requirements into practical and executable design solutions.
  • Strong project planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering across functions and teams.

  • 10% travel for customer and site visits as required.
