Position Summary
Provide accounting oversight and support for Turner joint ventures across the organization. Partner with Business Center (BCs) project stakeholders and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, month-end close, banking and tax activities, joint venture (JV)V setup and closeout, compliance, and process consistency. Partner with development of JV policies, controls, reporting, training, and technology-enabled processes throughout the JV lifecycle.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

Joint Venture Accounting & Financial Oversight

  • Lead JV month-end close activities, including accruals, balance sheet accounts, over/under billing, distributions, contributions,
    accounts receivable, recurring journal entries, and related reporting.
  • Analyze JV account activity, variances, and outstanding items; partner with Business Units to resolve issues and support timely,
    accurate close.
  • Maintain JV data and processing requirements across financial systems (i.e. Salesforce, SAP) and related internal financial systems
    and reporting tools.
  • Monitor JV accounting for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Turner Finance policies, internal controls, and Signing
  • Authority and Approval Matrix (SAAM) requirements; identify and escalate financial or process risks as needed.

Banking, Tax & Compliance

  • Lead JV bank account setup, maintenance, and closeout, including required documentation and communication with BCs, Shared Service Organization (SSO), Treasury, and Textura/bank.
  • Manage banking activities such as ACH setup, interest, bank fees, and account status maintenance.
  • Manage JV information required for tax, compliance, reporting, and audit activities, including management fees, income tax/UBT, interest expense, charitable contributions, R&D tax credit support, FEIN information, and retained earnings.

JV Lifecycle, Process Improvement & Controls

  • Collaborate with BCs throughout the JV lifecycle, from financial setup and ongoing accounting through distributions and closeout; coordinate closeout of trial balances, subcontracts, receivables, payables, financial systems, and bank accounts.
  • Maintain and improve JV Policies & Procedures, closeout checklists, SAAM templates, forms, and other standardized resources.
  • Identify opportunities to centralize, simplify, and automate JV accounting processes to improve accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and efficiency, including expanded use of bots, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and other technologies.

Business Unit Support, Training & Information Management

  • Serve as a Finance resource and point of contact for BCs on JV accounting questions, processes, deadlines, and escalated issues.
  • Provide guidance and training on Turner financial policies, JV accounting procedures, systems, controls, and established
    workflows.
  • Maintain centralized JV resources, including the joint venture center of excellence (JV COE) SharePoint site, master lists, status
    logs, training materials, and supporting financial information.
  • Travel required

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
* Supervisory or management preferred
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and company policies, ability to educate and enforce policies
* Ability to read and understand financial reports
* Analytic ability to review and assess financial data, interpret trends, and recognize inconsistencies
* Apply critical thinking to manage through complex decisions and judgments
* Display actions related to profitability and risk management and effectively communicate issues
* Exercises independent judgment and discretion with proven analytic and decision making abilities
* Applies innovation to offer and implement suggestions to improve overall operations
* Ability to simultaneously manage many activities, requests, and short-cycle deadlines
* Advanced proficiency of financial system applications, SAP and Textura experience, and advanced MS Excel skills
* High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
* Self-motivated, adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction and supervision while working in complex and changing
environment
* Lead by example and set standards for performance and behavior; act with integrity and professionalism; strong dedication to
teamwork
* Professional written and verbal communication skills
