Position Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Environmental Engineer with 1-2 years of experience to join our team in Abingdon, Maryland. This role offers a blend of field and office work, involving environmental sample collection, project planning, data evaluation, and technical reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, communicate well with a multidisciplinary team, and be able to manage a mix of field and office tasks. This position offers opportunities for professional growth and exposure to a variety of environmental projects.


Responsibilities

* Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of environmental investigation and remediation projects.
* Assist with field activities, including environmental sample collection (soil, water, air, tissue) and subcontractor oversight.
* Prepare work planning documents, field summaries, technical reports, and project documentation.
* Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
* Maintain a strong commitment to safety and quality standards during all field and office activities.


Required Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or another applicable science-based discipline.
* 1-2 years of related professional experience
* Ability to perform outdoor field activities, including environmental sample collection.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Valid driver's license with the ability and willingness to travel to project sites. Some projects require overnight for several days.

Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Pay Range
$58,000 — $70,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
