Pay Rate: $32.78 - $37.92 per hour

Schedule: A Shift - 7am-7pm schedule or D Shift - 7pm- 7am (Both 2-2-3 rotating 12-hour schedule)

The Maintenance Mechanic ensures manufacturing equipment operates efficiently for maximum production capability. Provides maintenance support for the production department and performs scheduled preventative maintenance, work orders, rebuilds, and related repairs on manufacturing equipment and other equipment in the facility.

Job Duties



  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance support to Production department along with other departments, as needed.
  • Support packaging line changeovers.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and other equipment in the facility.
  • Troubleshoot all manufacturing equipment and related issues and follow up as needed.
  • Support the installation and startup of new machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain a daily record of time and parts involved with assignments.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics, electricians, production workers, and other staff to promptly resolve maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and Microsoft applications to document work.
  • Participate in and lead root cause analyses of equipment failure, as directed.



Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school, vocational training, apprenticeship experience, or industrial maintenance education is preferred.



Experience Requirements



  • 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Able to demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and repair various processing and packaging equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics, welding techniques and capable of utilizing standard shop equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprints, engineer designs and complex schematics.
  • Strong time management, communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, facilities maintenance, or a related mechanical environment is preferred.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, welding, fabrication, electrical systems, or PLC-controlled equipment is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, preventative maintenance programs, or root cause analysis is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting ability, mechanical skill, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Mechanical fabrication and/or Tig welding experience.
  • Nutraceutical or pharmaceutical production industry experience.



Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in varied positions throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift tools, replacement parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to safely operate tools, perform repairs, and handle mechanical components.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery, elevated surfaces, confined areas, and industrial equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
  • This position is very active and requires constant standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
