Now hiring for a Maintenance Technician - Direct Hire

Location: Covington, OH

Pay: $25.00-$30.00/hr. DOE

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM

Training: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (duration based on experience and skill level)

We are actively recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a dynamic team at General Films Inc. in Covington OH. We are a family-owned and operated business that has been around for over 70 years. Come be a part of a well-established and respected organization.

The successful associate will have the responsibility for installing, maintaining, and repairing a broad range of mechanical and electrical/electronic systems and equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission motors, drives, and control systems. This position will provide assistance in operational functions as necessary to maintain continuous operations as well as repair or diagnose faulty equipment or machinery. This position works on the 3rd shift. Training will be on first shift.

Job Duties



  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial production equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
  • Repair and replace motors, relays, switches, circuit boards, gearboxes, pumps, and other machine components.
  • Perform equipment disassembly, reassembly, alignment, calibration, and adjustments.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks and document work through maintenance management systems.
  • Support production operations by responding to equipment breakdowns and urgent maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment status to production and leadership teams.
  • Follow OSHA, GMP, and company safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.


Education Requirements



  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree from a technical school or equivalent maintenance experience preferred.
  • Certifications in Automation, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, or related fields are a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and maintenance software systems.


Experience Requirements



  • Industrial maintenance experience required, including skilled trades, manufacturing, military, or technical maintenance backgrounds.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems.
  • Strong knowledge of motors, drives, gearboxes, pumps, relays, switches, and industrial machinery.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, calibrators, and diagnostic equipment safely.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required.
  • Must be able to follow GMP standards, including food manufacturing hygiene requirements.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work throughout the facility.
  • Frequently lift and handle up to 50 lbs., regularly up to 75 lbs., and occasionally over 75 lbs.
  • Ability to manipulate heavy machine parts and components weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Comfortable working around production equipment and in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must wear required PPE and follow all OSHA and safety guidelines.
