Overview AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer with a Bachelor's and 6 years of experience to provide comprehensive engineering support to the U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, helping modernize and sustain the Coast Guard's aging fleet. This work directly supports the continued readiness, safety, and mission effectiveness of cutters and boats through critical modernization, sustainment, and lifecycle engineering efforts. This role focuses on ship propulsion systems, machinery arrangements, technical documentation, and engineering trade studies that support vessel modernization and sustainment initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in marine mechanical systems, shipboard propulsion, and applicable commercial and regulatory standards. This position plays an important role in helping ensure cutter and boat systems remain safe, effective, and mission-ready. Responsibilities As a Senior Marine Propulsion Engineer you will: Provide engineering and technical support for marine vessels, shipboard machinery, and associated mechanical systems. Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $140,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
