FABRICATION TECHNICIAN I

JOB TITLE: FABRICATION TECHNICIAN I
DEPARTMENT: FABRICATION & MODIFICATION
REPORTS TO: FABRICATION & MODIFICATION MANAGER
CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under supervision, the Fabrication Technician will fabricate parts and perform aircraft sheet metal and composite repairs.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Utilize detailed blueprints to layout pieces to be fabricated and installed.
* Layout and fabricate aircraft parts such as ribs, stringers, doublers, etc. using standard sheet metal and composite repair techniques and measuring tools such as calipers, dial calipers, and scales.
* Utilize fabrication machines including drill press, band saw, chop saw, bending brakes, and shears.
* Must be able to hold tolerances.
* Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

* High school diploma with at least 0-2 years of experience.
* Ability to obtain a security clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, more with assistance.
* Work environment consists of various office and manufacturing settings with may have exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smells, and chemicals.
* Ability to traverse manufacturing facility.
