Stellar Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering support for an aerospace program. The successful candidate will work as part of an integrated engineering team, supporting requirements development and management, verification and validation (V&V) activities, and systems engineering reviews.



Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

This role is well suited for a systems engineer who can work across technical documentation, requirements, verification activities, and engineering reviews while collaborating with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

    Develop and derive system requirements from customer, program, and technical documentation.
  • Support requirements analysis, decomposition, documentation, traceability, and management throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Maintain and track requirements to help ensure consistency between customer needs, system requirements, and verification activities.
  • Support verification and validation (V&V) planning, tracking, and management.
  • Assist with systems engineering and technical reviews, including tracking and disposition of Review Item Discrepancies (RIDs), action items, and review comments.
  • Create, maintain, and track engineering issues and actions using JIRA.
  • Coordinate with systems engineers, technical leads, customers, and other engineering disciplines to support resolution of requirements, verification, and technical issues.
  • Track engineering actions through closure and maintain accurate status and supporting documentation.
  • Support other systems engineering activities as needed to meet program objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering or technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering activities in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Experience developing, analyzing, documenting, or managing technical requirements.
  • Understanding of systems engineering processes and the relationship between requirements, design, verification, and validation.
  • Ability to interpret customer and technical documentation and translate that information into clear, actionable system requirements.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and independently manage assigned engineering activities.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aerospace, space, or other complex engineering programs.
  • Experience with requirements management and traceability.
  • Experience supporting verification and validation activities.
  • Experience supporting formal engineering or technical reviews.
  • Experience using JIRA or similar issue and action-tracking tools.
  • Familiarity with Review Item Discrepancies (RIDs), technical action-item management, and engineering review processes.

Location: ideally in Tucson, Arizona, but remote is an option
