  • 12-hour rotating shift
  • 7 AM - 7 PM / 7 PM - 7 AM
  • Week 1: Monday + Tuesday + Friday + Saturday
  • Week 2: Sunday + Wednesday + Thursday

Responsible for setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining sheetfed printing press equipment, including the Heidelberg 640C press. This role ensures high-quality printed products by performing press make-readies, color corrections, equipment adjustments, routine maintenance, and minor repairs while meeting production and quality standards.

Job Duties



  • Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain sheetfed press equipment, including the Heidelberg 640C press.
  • Perform make-ready tasks such as hanging plates, installing cylinders, and preparing blankets.
  • Inspect plates and cylinders for defects and verify proper image positioning.
  • Adjust register, tension, pressure, and other press settings as needed.
  • Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specifications.
  • Monitor print quality throughout production runs.
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain press equipment.
  • Perform routine operational maintenance and manufacturer-recommended preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot minor press issues and complete minor repairs.
  • Replace worn or damaged machine parts as needed.
  • Read and interpret job specifications to determine proper press setup and materials.
  • Use precision measuring tools, including micrometers, to align printing plates and ensure quality production.


Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.


Experience Requirements



  • Operate and maintain Heidelberg 640C press equipment
  • Perform press make-ready activities including hanging plates and installing cylinders
  • Examine plates and cylinders for imperfections and proper image positioning
  • Adjust tension, register, and printing settings
  • Perform color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality standards
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment
  • Perform minor repairs and replace worn or broken parts
  • Read and understand job specifications
  • Use measuring tools such as micrometers for plate alignment
  • Perform manufacturer-recommended preventive maintenance


Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Sheetfed Press Operator.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 12-hour shift.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting materials and press components.
  • Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Manual dexterity to adjust and operate press equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish colors accurately for print quality and color matching.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull printing materials and supplies.
  • Ability to work in a production environment with noise, ink, paper dust, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout extended production runs.
