Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding production and manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient plant operations. This role performs advanced electrical and mechanical maintenance on printing presses, bindery equipment, conveyor systems, inserting machines, folders, die cutters, and other manufacturing machinery. The position works a 12-hour front half night shift and supports equipment reliability, safety, and production uptime.

Job Duties



  • Perform preventive maintenance on production and manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production stoppages to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and repair printing presses, bindery equipment, conveyor systems, folders, die cutters, and inserting machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and identify root causes of equipment failures.
  • Align, test, adjust, and calibrate complex machinery and components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
  • Fabricate or repair replacement parts using welding equipment, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment.
  • Perform machine installations, overhauls, rebuilds, and equipment modifications as needed.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to production and leadership teams.



Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED required.



Experience Requirements



  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex production equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, welders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders
  • Knowledge of geometry, shop mathematics, and machine alignment procedures



Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance tools, equipment, and machine components.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to work in and around manufacturing and production equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Ability to work in varying manufacturing environment conditions, including noise, moving machinery, and exposure to grease, oil, and dust.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and access elevated equipment when required.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, read gauges, diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Ability to work overtime and maintain focus during a -hour night shift.
