KI is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team! This Staff Accountant position reports to our Director of Tax & Treasury. This position supports the ongoing administration, reporting, compliance, and process improvement activities associated with fixed asset accounting and indirect tax functions.


Responsibilities



  • Own and support fixed asset accounting activities, including asset setup and maintenance, asset disposals and transfers, and compliance with expenditure authorization requirements.
  • Maintain fixed asset subledgers and perform reconciliations to the general ledger, including asset roll forwards, accumulated depreciation, and related account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze book and tax depreciation calculations and support depreciation forecasting and projections.
  • Evaluate capital expenditures to determine appropriate capitalization or repair expense treatment in accordance with company policy and accounting standards.
  • Support capital budgeting processes and monitor capital investment activities.
  • Reconcile indirect tax accounts to the general ledger and maintain exemption and resale certificate documentation.
  • Research, interpret, and apply tax statutes, regulations, rulings, and administrative guidance to support compliance efforts.
  • Analyze large volumes of transactional data to identify tax compliance risks, resolve discrepancies, and support audits and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address tax and fixed asset accounting matters and drive process improvements.
  • Support special projects, company initiatives, system implementations, and other Finance department projects as assigned.


What you Need to Succeed



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software (MRP/ERP), query and data analysis tools (Showcase/Stratum).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and decision-making skills.
