Lead Clinical Excellence. Build Statewide Systems. Empower Lives.

Are you a dynamic RN leader who loves turning big-picture strategy into smooth, everyday systems? Do you thrive on coaching nursing teams, driving culture change, and elevating health outcomes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities?

Mosaic is looking for a visionary, highly organized, and accountable State Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations across Illinois. In this key working-leadership role, you will bridge our regional teams-unifying three previously autonomous agencies (Rockford, Pontiac, and Macomb) into one collaborative, high-performing statewide health services department.

If you are passionate about system-building, mentor-style leadership, and advocacy, we'd love to welcome you to team Mosaic!

What You'll Do: The Impact You'll Make

  • Unify & Standardize Clinical Systems: Assess current daily nursing workflows across our 27 community homes (Rockford, Pontiac, Macomb) to design standard operating procedures (SOPs), job aides, and quality assurance processes.

  • Lead & Inspire Teams: Directly supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff and Health Services Assistants (HSAs) across the state. Cultivate an open, transparent culture where teams solve problems together and feel supported.

  • Ensure Regulatory Readiness: Serve as the statewide subject matter expert on state regulations and Mosaic standards. Oversee compliance, audit readiness, quality metrics, and health data analysis to catch health trends early and intervene proactively.

  • Educate & Train: Facilitate medication administration training and complete your Illinois Rule 116 Nurse-Trainer certification within your first 6 months.

  • Collaborate Nationally: Work alongside Mosaic's National Health Services team on clinical initiatives, quality reviews, and mortality reviews.

  • Strategic Leadership Support: Provide executive-level on-call guidance for complex medical decision-making across regional departments.

Your First 90 Days

  • Month 1: Complete an initial environmental scan, build relationships with your nursing teams in Rockford, Pontiac, and Macomb, and map out existing operational workflows.

  • Months 2-3: Identify system gaps, establish a clear statewide operational framework, and align nursing daily practices with Mosaic's high-quality care standards.
