Job Overview
Client- is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Assistant I to join its Clinical Toxicology Laboratory team in Burlington, NC. This role provides on-the-job training in the preparation and processing of patient samples to support laboratory testing. The ideal candidate is dependable, works well in a team, and can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities
Assist with pre-analytical preparation and processing of patient samples for laboratory testing.
Support daily laboratory operations within the Clinical Toxicology Laboratory.
Handle and prepare various specimen types, including blood, serum, urine, and meconium.
Follow established laboratory procedures and safety guidelines.
Manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate with team members to support timely and efficient laboratory workflows.
Work in a fast-paced environment supporting a variety of high-complexity laboratory tests.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to multitask and manage daily responsibilities effectively.
Strong reliability and dependability.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Previous laboratory, specimen processing, or sample preparation experience is a plus.
Laboratory Environment
The Clinical Toxicology Laboratory performs a variety of testing services, including:
Therapeutic drug testing
Designer panel drug testing
Pain management oral fluid drug testing
Occupational drug testing
Unknown analysis testing
Pharmaceutical testing
Drug confirmation testing
Additional Details
Work Location: Onsite in Burlington, NC.
Shift: First shift, Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
Contract Duration: Approximately 3 months, with potential for extension.
Conversion Opportunity: Potential contract-to-hire opportunity.
Vaccination Requirements: None specified.
