What to Expect
We are building robotic systems that physically test products and turn the results into reliable data. That covers robot manipulation, 3D vision, precision motion, force sensing, and the data pipeline behind them. We are looking for a senior engineer to own the system software end to end, from 3D perception and hardware integration through data collection and analysis, and to grow the platform as new test systems come online.
What You'll Do
- Develop 3D perception: point-cloud acquisition, multi-view registration, surface reconstruction, normal estimation, and conversion of scans into robot test targets
- Design and build robot software for test automation: motion planning, hand-eye calibration, sensor integration, and force/position control
- Integrate multi-vendor hardware (robot arms, 3D cameras, motion stages, force sensors, DAQ) behind maintainable software interfaces
- Build data collection pipelines: synchronized multi-sensor acquisition, metadata and traceability, and structured storage
- Analyze test data: signal processing, statistics, repeatability and uncertainty studies, and clear reports for engineering decisions
- Own system accuracy: error budgets, calibration, and verification against reference standards
- Set software quality practices: testing, hardware-in-the-loop, logging, and documentation
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and product teams; mentor other engineers as the team grows
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years in software engineering with 3+ years on physical robots, automation, or test/measurement systems
- Hands-on 3D point-cloud experience: registration (ICP, feature- or fiducial-based), filtering, segmentation, normal estimation, meshing. Tools such as Open3D, PCL, and OpenCV
- Camera and 3D sensor calibration: intrinsics, hand-eye, and robot-to-camera frame alignment
- Strong Python (including NumPy, pandas, SciPy); C++ for performance-critical code
- Solid robotics fundamentals: kinematics, motion planning, and control
- Hands-on experience bringing up hardware and integrating vendor SDKs on Linux
- Data analysis skills: experimental design, statistics, and measurement uncertainty
- Clear technical writing and cross-functional communication
