Working closely with Integration Architects, application consultants, client IT teams, and external vendors, you will help design, build, and optimize interfaces that connect Oracle Health to the broader healthcare technology ecosystem. Your expertise in HL7 messaging and interface troubleshooting will be essential to delivering dependable interoperability solutions throughout implementation, go-live, and stabilization. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your Oracle Health technical expertise to complex healthcare integration challenges, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and directly influence the success of client implementations. You will have the opportunity to solve meaningful interoperability challenges while expanding your experience across healthcare technologies and integration standards. What You'll Do In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Design, build, and optimize HL7 interfaces connecting Oracle Health (Cerner Millennium) with third-party clinical, ancillary, and operational systems to enable accurate and reliable data exchange.
- Develop and maintain interface mappings, translation rules, and routing configurations that support seamless integration between Oracle Health and external applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex HL7 messaging errors, transmission failures, and mapping discrepancies to minimize disruptions and maintain data integrity.
- Collaborate with Integration Architects, application consultants, client IT teams, and external vendors to deliver interface solutions aligned with technical architecture, clinical workflows, and business requirements.
- Lead interface testing and validation activities, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, to ensure interoperability solutions perform as expected.
- Support implementation, cutover, go-live, and stabilization activities by identifying integration risks, resolving technical issues, and ensuring continuity of data exchange.
- Contribute to revenue cycle EDI integrations, including X12 transactions such as 837 claims and 835 remittance advice, and FHIR/API-based integrations as required by client engagements.
- Establish and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, mapping standards, and troubleshooting guidance while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and applicable data security requirements.
What You Will Bring Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 7-10 years of combined experience working with Oracle Health (Cerner Millennium), including hands-on HL7 interface design, development, testing, and support.
- Strong technical expertise in HL7 messaging standards, including message construction, mapping, translation, routing, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and supporting interfaces between Oracle Health and third-party clinical, ancillary, or operational systems.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving interface errors, transmission failures, connectivity issues, and message mapping discrepancies.
- Experience supporting interface testing, implementation planning, cutover, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization activities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with external vendors, client IT teams, technical consultants, and functional stakeholders to validate interface connectivity and data accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple interface builds and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing consulting environment.
- Ability to travel and work on-site at client facilities as required to support implementation activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Cerner's OpenLink interface engine, including interface configuration, message routing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with healthcare revenue cycle Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), including X12 transactions such as 837 claims, 835 remittance advice, or related transactions.
- Experience designing, developing, or supporting FHIR-based APIs and healthcare interoperability solutions.
- Broader knowledge of healthcare integration architecture, clinical application workflows, and interoperability standards.
- Experience supporting large-scale Oracle Health implementations, system integrations, or healthcare technology transformation initiatives.
Additional Information This position requires the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional delivery teams, clients, and external technology partners.
