Powered Industrial Vehicle Repair Maintenance Technician Location: 1410 Gordon Food Service Dr, Plant City, FL The backbone of any automated logistics operation is a fleet of equipment running flawlessly. Our material handling equipment (MHE) teams keep our warehouse in motion and our customers successful. As an experienced PIV Repair Technician with Gordon Food Service, you will step directly into a hands-on role maintaining our fleet of forklifts, Hilos, pallet jacks, and lift trucks, utilizing electrical diagnostics, mechanical schematics, and advanced hydraulic troubleshooting. We have high standards for safety and mechanical integrity to ensure our technicians are safe and our fleet is always running at peak performance. We offer a clean, organized parts room and provide the heavier specialty diagnostic tools; you bring your basic toolbox. Position Details Prerequisite: Day-one operational proficiency required. Must possess independent diagnostic and repair capabilities. Schedule: 4-day work week (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday \| 7:00 PM - 5:30 AM) Pay: Starting at $28.24/hr based on experience (includes $1.00 shift premium)Monthly performance incentive programAnnual $500 tool allowance and $150 boot allowance Total Rewards at GFS:Affordable benefits plans starting Day 1Weekly pay & wellness reimbursementProfit sharing & 401(k) with company matchStrong internal career growth across our national distribution network Required Technical Capabilities PIV Mechanical Skills: Immediate ability to perform complete mechanical diagnostics and component identification on material handling equipment (MHE). Safe, efficient use of hand and heavy power tools. Proven track record performing comprehensive preventative maintenance (PMs) on lift trucks independently. PIV Electrical & Hydraulic Skills: Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and system blueprints. Proficient use of multimeters to check continuity, isolate shorts, and diagnose digital control cards. Direct experience safely wiring and troubleshooting 480V 3-phase motors and complex industrial battery charging systems. Required Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of active repair and maintenance experience specifically on Crown equipment (pallet jacks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, counterbalance forklifts) - Mandatory Must have immediate, hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capability on Crown Lift trucks High school diploma or GED certificate Must be 18 years of age or older Working knowledge of Voltage, Ammeter & Ohmmeter (VOM) meters Ability to work at heights (scissor lifts/cherry pickers) and in diverse environments (freezer, cooler, dry storage, exterior) Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs during a shift Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check Gordon Food Service encourages veterans and active military members to apply.
