UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals

Division of Cardiology, Department of Pediatrics

HS Clinical or Clinical X Faculty Series

The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are recruiting a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical or Clinical X faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

We are seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist to provide comprehensive care at Benioff Children's Hospitals. Your role will encompass inpatient, outpatient, and echocardiography imaging support.

The selected candidate will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Departments mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Qualifications:



  • Medical degree and license
  • Board certification in Pediatrics
  • Subspecialty certification or eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology
  • Proficiency in transthoracic, fetal, and transesophageal echocardiography through formal clinical training or equivalent experience
  • Advanced fourth-year pediatric fellowship training in echocardiography and/or three years of practice experience (preferred)
  • Preferred candidates will show interest in a career in academic pediatrics


Estimated Distribution of Clinical Duties:



  • Inpatient Service: 8 weeks per year
  • Outpatient Clinics: 5 half-day sessions per week
  • Echocardiography lab: 3 half-day sessions per week


For positions that are 51% effort or more:

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500-$228,600.
