In light of the high profile (and often sophisticated) cyber-attacks, many organizations are increasing their security posture with detection and response-oriented technology and services to reduce the impact of cybersecurity incidents. Fortinet has had great success with many of the cutting edge technologies in our Security Operations portfolio and is looking to accelerate a number of businesses including security information and event management (SIEM), security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR), user and entity behavioral analytics (UEBA), incident response (IR) services and more. Accordingly, we have an opening for a Product Marketing leader to play a strategic role within the Global Products and Solutions team. This is an exciting opportunity to define, execute and refine the business strategy, messaging and delivery for a ten figure annual business with double digit annual growth.

Primary responsibilities fall into 5 categories:



  • Set go to market plans
  • Size and segment the market, identifying the best opportunities for the Fortinet offering
  • Define the target organization (audience and individual) with acute pains and consensus requirements that we have an unfair competitive advantage in addressing with our endpoint security offerings
  • Craft and deliver messaging that will convey that advantage and resultant value for the (partner and end user) audience
  • Lead cross-functional teams in executing the plans
  • Collaborate with campaign, channel and technical marketing to identify and create informational resources in various forms
  • Work with corporate marketing on broad-based content for the web, social media, press and other vehicles
  • Enable and support sales and channel enablement with tools and training
  • Track and course correct the business
  • Monitor and support revenue progress and pipeline
  • Prepare quarterly as well as annual business reviews and plans
  • Investigate results, root causes and opportunities for expansion
  • Be the primary subject matter expert and champion for the products and solutions
  • Conduct online and in person events, including executive briefings for partners,
  • Engage with industry analysts to shape and convey our messaging and strategy
  • Establish/extend public persona in the channel through market education and field engagement
  • Manage a small team of direct reports
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and ongoing mentoring
  • Establish strategic objectives and manage their attainment
  • Handle annual merit review and long-term career goals



Title and reporting lines are negotiable depending on experience and qualification. The ideal candidate would have 10+ years of product marketing and/or product management experience in cyber security, including 2+ direct people management. Other desired qualifications include experience marketing to the CISO / SOC Manager / Security Architect, leveraging the local VAR and MSSP community, empowering sellers and enabling campaign marketers. Strong communication skills, plus an entrepreneurial spirit, are a must. This global role is located in our San Francisco Bay Area, CA, headquarters.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $150,000 - $210,000. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion.
