- CH: Peds Cardiodiagnostic Lab Successful completion of an accredited CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) ultrasound program. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in appropriate sub-specialty of department placement (adult echocardiology or pediatric echocardiology) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) board in appropriate sub-specialty of department placement (adult echocardiology or pediatric echocardiology) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required. Demonstrated competencies in echocardiography examinations of various kinds required. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and survey process required. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills. Able to read, write legibly, speak in English (and Spanish preferred) in person, in writing, and on the telephone with professional quality; use computer, printer, fax, software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities. Able to relate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise students, teach and collaborate; accept direction. Able to think critically; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Uses independent judgment and initiative. Ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to the position; discern temperature variances through touch.
