About This Role:

Kansas State University Division of Facilities is seeking a Maintenance & Repair Technician II. This position will perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, air conditioning, exhaust systems, light plumbing, pneumatic air equipment, building lighting systems, exterior lighting systems, light carpentry work, and cleaning & building interaction. Hours are 8:00am-5pm.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:



  • Requires one year of relevant experience. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • One year of experience in two or more building trades or mechanical building trades.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and possess the hands-on experience with industrial type exhaust fans, air handling units, heating/cooling ventilation, change and rewire ballasts, and utilize wiring diagrams to install according to manufacturing specifications.
  • Ability to read, understand and work from wiring diagrams.


Other Requirements:



  • Have and maintain valid driver's license.
  • Become and maintain certified Class I Asbestos worker during the probationary period.
  • Medical certification for respirator use within probationary period. Maintain medical certification for respirator annually.
  • This position is cover by the Kansas Association of Public Employees (KAPE) agreement.
  • Additional various training and/or certification may be required once employed.
