Technical Lead - Data Engineering

The Technical lead will serve as the technical expert responsible for design and implementation of BI, Analytics, & Big Data solutions providing high-value, timely analytics, and data solutions to customers. You will be responsible for verifying requirements, defining technical architecture when necessary, developing an implementation plan, providing thought leadership for all data solutions, including designing data solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

You will also provide direction to developers overseeing the development, unit testing and documentation for the developed solution and develop strong customer relationships for ongoing business. For success in this role, you will be experienced with the Cloud-based Data Solution Architectures, Software Development Life Cycle (including both Agile & Waterfall), Data Engineering and ETL tools/platforms, and data modeling practices.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading the technical team in all technical aspects.

  • Expected to engage with Business stakeholders & aligning others to your ideas & solutions.

  • Clarify/translate customer requirements into Epics/Stories & remove ambiguity.

  • Mentor other technical team members.

  • Design, develop and implement robust and extensible ETL solutions to support data warehouse integrations and transformations using CDI/CAI services on IICS platform, UNIX/PowerShell.

  • Partner with business and subject matter experts to identify, document & design based on the business requirements, functional specs and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.

  • Understand the Software Development Lifecycle and ability to apply the SDLC to existing and future development initiatives.

  • Responsible forestimating, planning, and managing the user stories, tasks and reports on Agile Projects.

  • Ability to present to groups of mixed technical ability.

  • Focus on the improvement of the overall performance for all data integration process, SQL Queries and Scripts.

  • Configure and manage the schedule of the data integration jobs.

  • Develop advanced PLSQL Procedures, Functions and SQL jobs.

    • Support exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, and predictive analytics.

    • Develop data integrations between internal and external/third party sources.

  • Develop technical solutions using Data Bricks, Snowflake or Azure Synapse architecture.

  • Participate in the development of corporate-wide strategies, processes, and standards for data architecture, storage, and reporting.

What we hope you bring to the role:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field experience required.

  • 8+ years Data Warehouse/Data Lake Architecture and Development

  • 5+ years Data Modeling & Architecture

  • 8+ years of experience with any ETL Integration tools like IICS, Informatica PowerCenter etc.,

  • 4+ years of experience in CDI/CAI Integration Services in IDMC platform.

  • 8+ years of experience working with SQL queries.

  • In depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.

  • 4+ years' experience with Azure Cloud platform and services.

  • 3+ years' experience working with Snowflake, AWS RedShift, or Azure Synapse data platforms.

  • 5+ years' experience leading a technical team with a size of at least 4.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

  • In-depth knowledge of data management principles and best practices, including data governance, data quality, and data integration.

  • Demonstrated experience with various BI technologies.

  • Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.

  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience managing all phases of the project life cycle, including running project prioritization meetings, post-installation project post-mortem meetings and a proven track record of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Collaboration with both onshore and offshore development teams

Preferred skills:

  • Exposure to Qlik Sense or any Visualization tools, Dynamics CRM & Salesforce Systems.

  • Python & Scala
