Construction Planner and Scheduler

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will push the boundaries of what's possible in project management, supporting Blue Origin's Florida Engineering, Planning, and Integrated Construction team. You will contribute substantively to the team's impact on all aspects of building our infrastructure and world-class facilities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop the construction project schedules and project management plans based on program schedule, customer ask date, labor, resource availability, and expected delivery time.
  • Manages construction project schedules for multiple programs. Provides detailed information for Facilities Construction, Engineering, and the end-user to ensure scheduled completion dates align with equipment, tooling, and production need-by-dates.
  • Evaluate construction scope and create tactical schedules using scheduling systems (MS Project & Primavera P6). Controls the scope of work released to the program for management and execution.
  • When schedule recovery is necessary, identify and analyze solutions and bottlenecks, including forward and reverse scheduling methods.
  • Works closely with the Facilities Construction team to determine the needs and constraints of the capital construction projects, general contractors/subcontractors, and schedules work accordingly.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Program Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure construction and customer specifications are accurate and project schedules are timely.
  • Monitors status and provides regular updates to management on upcoming project priorities.
  • Updates visual management boards with current job/program status.
  • Performs schedule and scope variance analysis and reviews construction execution.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where data analysis requires evaluation and judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Passion for our mission and vision: Millions of people living and working in space!
  • BA/BS Construction Management, Business Management, and/or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent construction project control planning and scheduling experience.
  • Read and understand technical documents including blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining schedules with CPM methodology in MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Able to work a full-time schedule, including occasional travel, overtime, or on-call work.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Digital literacy
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing Lead, supplier management, and program management experience highly desired.
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Excel, Power Query, SQL, MS Office, MS Project, Primavera P6.
  • Excellent written /verbal communication skills
