SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for gathering and interpreting global regulatory intelligence to inform Exelixis policy and practices. Ensures timely preparation and completion of action plans to maintain Exelixis processes and procedures, in response to changes in regulatory requirements. Oversees Regulatory Affairs procedural documents in the Quality Management System. Establishes processes and measures to monitor conformance with Regulatory Affairs procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor the external regulatory environment to identify emerging intelligence with relevance to Exelixis.

  • Establish formal and informal networks to keep up to date with regulatory intelligence and interpretation.

  • Interpret regulatory intelligence to assess the impact on Exelixis and advise Regulatory Affairs leadership accordingly.

  • Lead Regulatory Affairs action planning of updates to policies, processes and procedures.

  • Monitor the completion of regulatory intelligence related action plans.

  • Establish cross-functional relationships and an internal network to plan actions resulting from new regulatory intelligence.

  • Business owner for the enterprise regulatory intelligence system.

  • Coordinate activity amongst all Regulatory Affairs groups and with Exelixis Quality Assurance, to establish appropriate quality procedures, in the form of policies, standard operating procedures and work instructions.

  • Establish process and measures to ensure Regulatory Affairs conformance with quality procedures.

  • Establish process and measures to ensure Regulatory Affairs compliance with regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline and a minimum of thirteen years of related experience; or,

  • Master's degree in related discipline and a minimum of eleven years of related experience; or,

  • PhD degree in related discipline and a minimum of eight years of related experience; or,

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this positionis $183,000 - $260,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate's geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors. In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan. Exelixis also offers employees the opportunity to purchase company stock, and receive long-term incentives, 15 accrued vacation days in their first year, 17 paid holidays including a company-wide winter shutdown in December, and up to 10 sick days throughout the calendar year.
