Job Summary:

The Lead Case Manager provides leadership and guidance to a team of case managers, ensuring high-quality service delivery to disaster survivors. This role includes overseeing case management activities, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with program guidelines and regulatory requirements. The Lead Case Manager also supports the development of recovery plans, monitors staff performance, and serves as the primary point of contact for complex cases requiring additional support or resources.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of case managers, ensuring they meet performance goals and adhere to program policies.
  • Monitor and ensure that case managers are providing effective, timely, and compassionate support to survivors, including conducting assessments, developing recovery plans, and coordinating resources.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support to case managers, ensuring they are equipped to manage their caseloads and meet client needs.
  • Ensure compliance with program requirements, including accurate documentation, reporting, and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., community-based organizations, and government agencies) to ensure the seamless delivery of services.
  • Conduct regular reviews of case management practices and documentation to maintain a high standard of care and identify areas for improvement.
  • Act as the point of escalation for urgent or emergency situations, providing direction and support to case managers in managing critical cases.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science.
  • A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience overseeing case management, social work, or disaster recovery case management teams.
  • Clean criminal background check.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (Speaking, Writing and Reading)
  • 1 year of experience in the provision of resources and referrals.
  • 1 year of experience in providing services to families during crisis.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
  • This position will be located in Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) and may require occasional travel to impacted counties.
  • The Lead Case Manager may be required to attend large meetings or trainings in a centralized location.
  • Flexible work hours required, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of disaster survivors.
