Description Section Editor's are responsible for the entire production and final product of their respective section. The paper comes out monthly. Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks) Essential Job Functions: Gather story ideas for every issue. Assign stories to writers/ Write headlines for your stories Ensure all editorial content is based on verifiable facts Arrive prepared and on time for weekly meetings. Communicate with the Layout/Design Editor about your section. Specific Functional Job Requirements Education Requirements: HS Diploma or GED. Experience Requirements: Newsroom experience preferred. Good spoken English skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Willingness to learn. Knowledge: knowledge of AP Style preferred. Skills: Excellent written communication skills.
