Opportunity available for a Pediatric Neuroradiologist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the Best Hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth, and Children's Health, ranked in all 10 pediatric subspecialties by U.S. News & World Report. The candidate must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign equivalent, have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in pediatric radiology or neuroradiology and have additional training or experience in pediatric neuroradiology. The applicant must be American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified/eligible. Eligibility for full Texas medical license and its acquisition prior to start of employment is required. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. We are seeking a hard-working, team-centered individual with a desire to innovate and participate in the growth of the Division. Duties include interpreting the full range of pediatric neuroradiology examinations (exclusive of interventional procedures) and providing consultation to referring physicians. Experience with advanced processing techniques including diffusion tensor imaging and other functional imaging examinations would be beneficial. Teaching responsibilities will include medical students, Radiology residents and fellows in didactic lectures and group settings as well as participation in related multidisciplinary conferences. Faculty members have dedicated academic time with many opportunities to develop research interests in collaboration with our strong basic science group, as well as other clinical and basic science departments at Children's and throughout the campus. The Pediatric Radiology Division currently includes 22 faculty members (including 6 pediatric neuroradiologists) and sponsors an ACGME-accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Radiology, and Texas Medical Board-approved fellowship programs in Pediatric Interventional Radiology and in Pediatric Neuroradiology. Clinical service is provided to Children's Medical Center Dallas, a 490-bed tertiary pediatric hospital and Level 1 trauma center, Children's Medical Center Plano, a 72-bed community hospital, and multiple outpatient imaging centers throughout the region. Our Plano campus is set to expand to 210 beds in 2024. Children's Medical Center Dallas has two Siemens (Skyra and Vida) 3T MR scanners and one 1.5T scanner, Siemens FLASH CT and FORCE CT, PET-CT, and two dedicated pediatric IR suites. A new 3T Siemens Prisma magnet is being installed at our adjacent outpatient center along with a mock MRI for patient training. Additionally, there are two offsite MR scanners, 1.5T and a 3T. We have a strong clinical programs in pediatric epilepsy, neurology, otolaryngology, neuro-oncology and neurosurgery. The division actively participates in the care of children with neurologic disorders through daily rounds and multidisciplinary conferences with multiple clinical services.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
