The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine and Department of Clinical Sciences, Division of Outcomes and Health Services Research (HSR) are seeking researchers with interests in outcomes, health services, and comparative effectiveness research. Our large university, safety net, and VA health systems (each with a comprehensive EMR and 1+ million visits/yr) provide numerous opportunities for EMR-enabled, population-based research. Our Center for Patient-Centered Outcomes Research and CTSA provide data cores (HSR/CER, informatics, biostatistics, social science) and career development/KL2 opportunities. Areas of interest include: outcomes, HSR, CER, quality, safety, disparities, predictive modeling, chronic disease management, cancer prevention, primary care, hospital medicine, palliative care, and population health. MDs will also provide and supervise outpatient and inpatient care, and teach residents and medical students. The position requires an M.D. or Ph.D./M.D. from a LCME approved medical school, have completed an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency, be eligible for a Texas license, be board certified in Internal Medicine, and have completed a GIM or equivalent research methods fellowship.
Appointment rank will be
commensurate with
academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
