Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services is currently seeking a Systems Engineer at Huntsville office location. The Systems Engineer will provide the knowledge and skills to implement technical strategies, evaluate products and provide a superior level of technical support. This is a temporary, on call role. Candidate should expect to work no fewer than 8 hours per week to begin, with possibility of increasing hours up to full time.

PRIMARY DUTIES:



  • Conducts studies, technical assessments, system analysis and architectural level analysis of UAS systems to determine system performance and effectiveness
  • Develops, plans, coordinates and integrates UAS systems related requirements to support operational needs
  • Develop, coordinate, staff and execute UAS training for team members and customers
  • Supports UAS system design, mishap analysis and corrective action development
  • Support UAS system demonstrations and deployments as required
  • Develops, gathers and organizes UAS system related information
  • Support UAS subsystems integration and flight testing

Required Experience:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • MS in relevant technical field preferred, BS with 15 yearis work experience acceptable
  • Minimum of 10 years of task related experience required
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driving permit if required
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time


The following qualifications are DESIRED:



  • PhD in relevant technical field with 10 years working experience
  • Experience with directed energy (DE) weapons systems including both high energy laser (HEL) and high power microwaved (HPM)
  • Demonstrated experience related to operational procedures and an in-depth knowledge of
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze test scenarios, technical communications, systems schematics, and other information to design and implement system configurations required for various tests.
  • Electronics engineering and strong software minor such as computer science or specific engineering data systems.
  • Experience in coaching young engineers of various disciplines
