Description Job title Life Skills Professional Reports to Site Supervisor Position Summary Morris Home supports transgender individuals with a history of insecure housing as they develop the knowledge, skills and supports necessary to promote sobriety, manage emotional and behavioral difficulties, choose and maintain safe and healthy lifestyles, and develop healthy relationships with peers, family and the community. We use a harm reduction and trauma informed approach to increase positive health and behavioral health outcomes for our members. The Life Skills Professional is responsible for client support through direct interaction throughout shift; collaboratively and actively assisting and supporting the participants of the program in the development of Life/Recovery Support/Coping/Daily living skills. Facilitate and document psychotherapy groups, implementing the activities on the monthly calendar; promote and enhance the informed culture of the program and the establishment and attainment of goals identified in the individual Recovery Support Plan (RSP). Working conditions While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, use hand to find, handle feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, listen, taste, and smell. The job also requires employees to lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs. The individual must be able to manager stairs on a frequent basis. RHD employees and programs in the City of Philadelphia are required to follow the COVID vaccine mandate. Revised PDPH guidance allows for new hires to be partially vaccinated at the time of hire. This means they have received at least one shot in a two-dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before beginning in-person shifts.
