Barista Cafe Attendants provide excellent service and expertly crafted products. You will be in an energetic store environment where you will have the ability to master your food & beverage craft, work alongside friends and meet new people every day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from Monongalia County Health Department (MCHD) prior to starting OR obtain MCHD Temporary FSWP no later than the first Wednesday of employment. Until a Temporary FSWP is obtained: May not handle exposed food or any food contact surface, equipment, or utensil. May be trained on tray delivery and complete general department orientation. Must obtain a valid MCHD FSWP within 1 month of start date (next available class) and maintain throughout employment. 2. Starbucks Barista Basics certification within 90 days of hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Prefer prior barista and or food service experience in a high-volume setting. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Meets store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security. 2. Efficiently and accurately operates the register system including proper labeling all Starbucks drink and food items. Also reports over/under deposits within department compliance guidelines. 3. Reviews the menu, pricing and register screen prior to starting shift. 4. Maintains work area throughout shift. Makes sure the area is clean, sanitized and well stocked with proper cups, lids, syrups, coffees, and refreshers. 5. Prepares food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers per the Starbucks Barista Basics training guide, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients. 6. Assembles supplies needed for shift. 7. Sets-up, delivers, serves, and cleans according to established standards. 8. Engages with and understands our customers per the Starbucks Barista Basics training guide, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication. 9. Ensures items are stored according to FDA Food Code. 10. Work with delivery vendor (Estes) to unload, inspect and properly store Starbucks food items in the respected freezers/refrigeration. 11. Inspects items during receiving, rejects unacceptable products, and documents for credit. 12. Follows training and safety procedures when operating equipment. Equipment is cleaned and properly stored. 13. Inventories assigned areas and follows Starbucks Par Builder Par Sheets. 14. Available to perform different shift locations throughout the store: (Support, Cold Bar, Espresso Bar, Register, Beverage Sequencing & Customer Support). 15. Attends Starbucks seasonal promotional period trainings (Spring, Summer 1, Summer 2, Fall, and Winter).) as appropriate.
