Job Description

PURPOSE

The organization's Information Technology requires a team to provide operational and technical support. This role will support the Cloud Operations Manager in ensuring that the company's, networks, systems, and associated infrastructure run efficiently and perform within agreed targets.

The Job role involves optimizing performance, resiliency, scale, and security of Azure networking solutions. At the same time, this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining computer networks for all Equus sites. Eventually, this position will support all the APM owned subsidiaries in the US.

Some common duties and attributes associated with this role include:

DUTIES

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based network solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network components.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate Azure networking services (e.g., Virtual Network, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute).
  • Responsible to enhance network performance, ensure resilience, and maintain security.
  • Proactively monitor the network environments to identify issues promptly that in turn will minimize risks and ensure smooth operations.
  • Drive network automation initiatives to achieve continuous service delivery and improvements.
  • Implement network observability and monitoring tools.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Azure Resource Manager templates) to automate network provisioning.
  • Maintain network configurations as code for consistency and repeatability.
  • Perform problem isolation and resolution for network-related issues.
  • Setup and install and maintain network infrastructure, including configuring and maintaining devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Perform routine network maintenance, including troubleshooting and installing upgrades, service packs, and security configurations on Meraki firewalls and switches.
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trends, and capacity planning.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in coordination with security team.
Qualifications

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in supporting the Network infrastructure in a mid to large organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, as well as relevant work experience in Networking, IT operations, or infrastructure management.
  • Azure Certification in networking preferred.
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate.

Preferred Experience and Competencies

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and Azure networking, having worked extensively in this environment.
    • Proficiency in Azure networking services (e.g., Azure Virtual Network, Azure Firewall, Azure Load Balancer).
    • Familiarity with Azure ExpressRoute and VPN Gateway configurations.
    • Knowledge of Azure security features (e.g., Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, Azure DDoS Protection).
    • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or other relevant languages.
  • Above all you must have excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of IT and the ability to tackle issues and pick up new skills under your own initiative.
  • Strong technical skills as well as excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
