Job Description

The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Missouri is excited to announce an opening for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This position requires working closely with our Neurosurgeons in a side-by-side approach to patient care focused on the inpatient management of neurosurgical patients.

As the only Level I Trauma Center in the community, neurosurgeons at the University of Missouri and MU Health Care deliver comprehensive neurosurgical care for patients suffering from brain and spine tumors, aneurysms and cerebrovascular disease, spine disorders, peripheral nerve disorders, pediatric neurological disorders, epilepsy, and movement and functional disorders.

Minimum Qualifications

NURSE PRACTITIONER - SPECIALTY CARE
Master of Science in Nursing degree.
Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
Must be granted a "Document of Recognition" from the Missouri Board of Nursing.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT - SPECIALTY CARE
Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

NURSE PRACTITIONER - SPECIALTY CARE

NP Candidates must possess graduation certificate from an accredited nurse practitioner program. May possess a specialty certificate by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), and the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Missouri and must be granted "Document of Recognition" as a certified nurse practitioner from the Missouri State Board of Nursing

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT - SPECIALTY CARE

Physician Assistant Candidates must possess graduation certificate from an AMA accredited physician assistant program, including national certification, as a physician assistant by the NCCPA is required. Possession of a current Missouri license to practice as a licensed Physician Assistant or eligible to be licensed.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $90,251 - $147,285
Grade: PAT - 012
