Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Oncology Licensed Mental Health professional is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Psychologist specialized in Oncology Clinical Therapy. The licensed mental health professional will have a unique focus and skillset specific to working with oncology patients, family, and their caregivers. The Oncology Licensed Mental Health professional will be responsible for individual and group counseling sessions for those receiving treatment with HonorHealth Cancer Care. Short-term counseling related to a patient's cancer care journey contributes to helping them meet their individual clinical treatment goal and supports their mental health quality of life. A focus on discovering tools to reduce isolation, find hope, and regain a sense of control with an emphasis in supporting patients with mood disorders related to the circumstances of their diagnosis. This position will be responsible for facilitating group, individual, and family counseling sessions. In addition, they will provide educational workshops, pre-group interviews and other programs deemed suitable to contribute to the need of our patients. The HonorHealth Cancer Care Oncology Licensed Professional will conduct all sessions in a manner that represents our HonorHealth mission and vision.
  • Provision of individual and group counseling sessions. Conduct intake assessments that include diagnosing using the DSM-5-TR.
  • Collaboration with patient, couple, family caregiver in developing a treatment plan with short-term goals in relation to cancer journey
  • Provide short-term counseling, crisis management, and discharge planning per CSC standards.
  • Conduct and Plan Group Facilitation and Management. Facilitate groups where participants share their cancer-related experiences, obtain knowledge, gain tools to help them when triggered. Conduct pre-group interviews when required by Director of Oncology Programmatic Development.
  • Maintain paperwork specific to group management and individual sessions such as notes and attendance.
  • Voluntarily attend social and community events and collaborate with partners to support HonorHealth Cancer Care.

Qualifications

Education
Master's Degree In Social Work or MSW-Equivalent Program Required
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW or Psychologist Required

Experience
1 year as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and/or successful completion of health-related placement in Master's level Clinical Social Work Program Required
3 years Specializing in Oncology Required

Licenses and Certifications
Must have one of the following current licensure:

LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
Psychologist Required
