AIR is seeking a full-time Senior Researcher to join AIR's Health Division. Our Health team works collaboratively to unravel the intertwined challenges of health care quality, costs, and access. Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:

    Serve as Project Director or Task Lead for program monitoring and audit projects
  • Manage project team and budget, in collaboration with a Project Manager
  • Provide intellectual leadership for the conceptualization and design of health program implementation and monitoring activities, including in projects and research proposals
  • Work on collaborative project teams for externally funded research projects and studies
  • Lead design and implementation of rigorous multi-modal monitoring methods to support implementation of health policy programs
  • Interpret policy and regulation to develop monitoring measures and audit protocols
  • Lead teams in writing monitoring plans, reports, briefings and research papers
  • Present and disseminate findings to clients and other external stakeholders
  • Clearly communicate with clients, colleagues, and other internal and external stakeholders orally and in writing and represent AIR in a professional manner
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity in interactions with colleagues, external audiences, and study participants, and promote AIR's diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in all research and business activities
  • Maintain excellent relationships in the field, serve as a client contact, and actively pursue business development through client relationships, partnership development, and by staying abreast of the direction of the field
  • Lead, write, and contribute to proposals for federal, state, foundation, and other clients and funders


Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Master's degree in health administration, MPP, MBA or MPA (with health-related focus/concentrations) with 7+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Methodological expertise in monitoring and compliance activities, including audits
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting quantitative and qualitative data
  • Experience managing and contributing to research and evaluation projects, reports, and products
  • Track record of contributing to successful proposal and business development efforts is preferred but not required
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and partners

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writing
  • Comfortable working in a virtual/dispersed work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds and the ability to produce concise, high-level summaries and briefings accessible to broad audiences
  • Ability to learn quickly, take direction, and work independently
  • Strong presentation, professional development delivery, and facilitation skills

Disclosures:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

AIR's Total Rewards Program, is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $118,000 - $145,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
