Office of Admissions

Job Description

This full-time position will perform first year student recruitment activities in the Southwest Missouri region. This position will conduct significant recruiting and admissions functions, such as communicating with prospective students, attending college fairs, scheduling high school visits, and helping at special events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Represent the university by attending college fairs and coordinating high school visits.
  • Promote Missouri S&T to students, families, and high school contacts through in-person presentations and virtual events.
  • Travel within Missouri for recruitment, including evening and weekend travel.
  • Provide a prompt review of admission applications for students within assigned territory.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective students and families, high school contacts, and campus and community partners through email, phone calls, and text messaging.
  • Manage recruitment territory utilizing data to plan travel and communication outreach.
  • Coordinate special recruitment events on-campus and off-campus with various stakeholders (current students, staff and faculty, alumni volunteers) to promote the university.
  • Utilize computer database to update student and high school records and log communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Slate
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $20.00-$20.91 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
