Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Process Engineer to help grow our industrial water practice in our Minneapolis, MN office. This position is well-suited for a talented, experienced individual who is interested in leading to innovative and challenging industrial water/wastewater projects, The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with one of Geosyntec's leading industrial water/wastewater practitioners to pursue, win, and execute industrial water projects in Minnesota and across the globe.You will join teams on existing industrial water/wastewater projects, helping to deliver projects and expand repeat business with existing clients. Also apply your skills to a wide variety of exciting industries, including mining, advanced manufacturing, food and beverage, and potable water. And, contribute to a growing industrial water/wastewater practice, based in Minnesota, but with global reach and impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec's culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks. Some of the key responsibilities may include:

    Project management - develop project schedules, budgets, and quality management plans. Coordinate the team to deliver quality industrial water/wastewater projects on time and within budget.
  • Technical project contributions including: industrial water/wastewater planning, alternatives evaluations, design coordination, and cost estimating.
  • Business development; developing and implementing a business development plan that will include expansion of repeat business with existing clients and development of new business with new clients. Leading the development of proposals and executing marketing strategies.
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff and managing subcontractors.
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Reviewing and managing written document production.
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (civil, chemical, or environmental). (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Professional engineer certification. (required)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of environmental consulting experience including familiarity with the industrial water/wastewater marketplace; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Detailed understanding of industrial water and wastewater treatment processes (required) and the mining, advanced manufacturing, or food and beverage industries. (preferred)
  • Experience with industrial stormwater management modeling and/or design (preferred)
  • Successful client management and business development track record. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients and leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handle multiple project assignments, meet strict deadlines, and travel to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
