- Partner closely with business stakeholders, including accounting and finance to collect business requirements, then crosswalk those requirements to functional and technical requirements in a requirement traceability matrix (RTM).
- Perform analysis of existing processes and applications, and assist with redesigning technical solutions to improve financial and/or reporting efficiencies.
- Advise technical members on the financial impact of IT projects, and advocate for the application's adherence with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other financial authoritative guidance.
- Assist with configuration of accounting rules in financial applications.
- Develop comprehensive documentation such as process flows, training and users guides, functional specifications, and future state business process and application design documents.
- Help translate concepts between technical and non-technical members.
- Facilitate design and requirement workshops to gather input and feedback.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and methodologies that enhance our systems and processes, positioning the organization for future success.
- Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.

Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or other related fields (advanced degree preferred).
- Be well versed in accounting principles, including how they translate within business processes and technology.
- Have a proven track record in delivering financial IT solutions, with 7+ years expertise in gathering requirements, and developing functional specifications.
- Have 7+ years of experience with financial enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications, preferably Oracle EBS.
- Are skilled in cultivating strong relationships with business stakeholders and translating business needs into IT solutions.
- Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward a shared vision, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Have exceptional communication skills to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Are proficient in data analysis and querying. Have strong SQL experience with the ability to extract meaningful insights to inform decision making and translate into actionable requirements.
- Have experience with highly customized financial applications.

- Have 7+ years of experience configuring and troubleshooting for Oracle EBS.
- Have led a financial remediation effort or served as a functional lead of an ERP implementation project.
- Have experience as a power user in Power BI.
- Have prior experience as a consultant or working for large, Federal direct- and grant-funded research organizations.
- Have an CPA.
- Are certified/trained in Agile Project Delivery and/or Business Analysis.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
