WHAT TO EXPECT

As Gates Corporation looks into the future, Product Line Management (PLM) has been identified as a crucial role that will drive the next phase of our company's growth. Located in our Englewood office, you will be reporting to the Global Product Line Director - Hydraulic Hose and Assemblies. This role is integral in the development and implementation of product line strategic plans, including market and competitive analysis and identifying strategic initiatives that will drive and nurture profitable growth. You'll be at the heart of developing product roadmaps and working hand-in-hand with engineering to create technology roadmaps that support these product roadmaps.

  • You will support the formulation of all short-term and long-term objectives and business plans for their product line, including meeting orders, sales, market share, price realization, profitability, VA/VE, quality, delivery, and vitality metrics.
  • Your role will involve identifying, justifying, and selecting new product development projects and marketing programs to obtain desired growth in incoming orders and sales and achieve profitability targets.
  • This is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with technical resources to manage the portfolio of organic investments in the product line across the entire product lifecycle from ideation through to commercialization and end-of-life!
  • You'll engage with sales teams and customers to capture VOC and integrate their feedback into product planning and execution.
  • You'll work in close partnership with operations to ensure the manufacturability and delivery of products per growth projections.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting P&L for the product line, including strategic planning and tactical managing to achieve financial and other operating metrics.
  • Conduct voice-of-the-customer interviews and translate customer desires into actionable insights through customer visits, participation in industry associations, and competitive research.
  • Acting as overall project manager for the New Product Development (NPD) process, ensuring that feature, quality, and cost objectives are reached and that schedules are kept. Preparing required Market Launch materials. Documenting product specs, strategy, plans, and training needs.
  • Leading all aspects of the new product launch process and commercialization.
  • Maintaining current knowledge and expertise of product engineering technologies, new product designs, competitor capabilities and practices, market conditions, and market channels in order to develop short-term and long-term product design and necessary manufacturing strategies.
  • Developing and coordinating marketing communications materials for all sales channels, internal and external.
  • Continuously analyze and interpret customer questions, requirements, or problems.
  • Support the preparation of effective quotations, bids, and related negotiation documentation for the sales of products produced by the company.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree is required. Preference for Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business or Marketing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product line management, marketing, outside field sales, application and/or product engineering, or business development, along with evidence of continued career progression. Preferred: experience in at least 2 of the aforementioned roles.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including international travel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence with and without authority.
  • High-level interpersonal and leadership skills; must be able to influence across multiple levels within the company and locations, including establishing global partnerships.
  • Strategic mindset and strong business acumen.
  • Global work experience and perspective is preferred.
  • Change management leadership capability.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and drive change.
  • Excited to work in the office with great teammates.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Full-Time
  • Salary Range: $118,000 - $135,000
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
  • Tuition Reimbursement
