Position: Intern Wealth Planning (Summer 2025)

Location: 1333 West Loop South, Ste 1500, Houston, TX 77027

Reports To: Wealth Planning Manager

What The Role Is

A Linscomb Wealth, Wealth Planning Interns will be given the opportunity to work wealth planning and analyst teams, and we may also seek to provide a brief rotation or experience with other departments during the 8-week period. We seek to provide a highly educational and engaging experience by having interns involved in real world projects, and attending various team meetings, and presenting what they have learned to a group of senior firm members. The internship program is an opportunity for the student and for Linscomb Wealth to learn more about one another. We seek to discover if the student remains highly interested to pursue a career in wealth management and if there is potentially a great fit to consider full-time employment following the student's graduation.

How You Will Make an Impact



  • Participate in the various areas of the firm including Client Service, Operations, Investment, and Wealth Planning.
  • Assist analysts and wealth planners with the development of cash flow models, related financial analyses, recommendations, and action plans around all areas of the financial planning process for clients and prospective clients, including retirement planning, education funding, investment policy, estate planning, insurance and asset protection, income tax planning, employee benefits, concentrated wealth, charitable strategies and other items that impact a client's or prospective client's financial goals.
  • Participate in brainstorm meetings to discuss client situations, planning opportunities and investment recommendations.
  • Work with the wealth planning team and other members of the firm to help develop and document firm best practices.
  • Help research ideas and prepare materials for presentation and discussion at various firm meetings.


Who You Are



  • Pursuit of a bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four year college or university, with a degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, or other business related degree.
  • No prior professional work experience is required. Industry related internship experience is a plus.
  • Proactive and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Experience with CRM Database, Document Management software, eMoney or other Financial Planning software is a plus.
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Works cooperatively with others
