The Department of Biophysics at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. More senior candidates will also be considered. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. We seek outstanding candidates who study molecular mechanisms of biological processes, in vitro or in vivo, using physical and quantitative approaches. We are interested in all excellent candidates regardless of technical approach, but particularly encourage applications from those with backgrounds in single-molecule biophysics, correlative light and electron microscopy, quantitative imaging or artificial intelligence as applied to biophysical questions. Scientists within the Department of Biophysics participate in a vibrant, interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, and highly collaborative research community within the Medical Center, and enjoy unparalleled access to state-of-the-art research cores in advanced light microscopy, cryo-electron microscopy, high performance computing, X-ray crystallography, macromolecular NMR spectroscopy, molecular biophysics, protein chemistry and high-throughput screening. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field of study, postdoctoral or comparable experience, and a demonstrated record of research excellence.
