In an effort to aid City Departments in their mission to deliver effective and efficient services to citizens and maintain timely, responsive operations, a temporary staffing pool is maintained to meet these needs. Applicants will be hired to work temporary assignments as needed.

Our commitment is to provide skilled, reliable, and professional workers across various industries. We place candidates for administrative, skilled-trades, and general labor positions.

This position is posted quarterly to ensure the City has access to current interested candidates. Applicants will be notified to re-apply to each quarter's posting to indicate your continued interest and availability.

Summary

Responsible for providing support based on the needs of the department.

  • Temporary positions will be available on an as-needed basis

  • Department, hours and shifts will vary per assignment (part-time, full-time, etc.)

  • All temporary employees must pass a criminal background check. A drug screen may be required based on the role.

  • Temporary workers are not eligible for any City benefits

  • Applying to Temporary Pool openings does not guarantee full-time employment with the City of Garland

  • The essential duties and responsibilities will vary per assignment.

Minimum Education & Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)

  • 1 year of work experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Class C Texas driver's license
